My favourite 12 brunch places in Prague (away from the centre)

Similarly to having a breakfast out, brunch is relatively a new concept for Czech cafes and restaurants. Saying that, my mum is convinced she invented brunch when we were growing up! We would always have a long breakfast on Sundays, when we’d make lots of pancakes and mum would read us books until well after mid day.

Fast forward to 2026 and the typical brunch (a meal between breakfast and lunch, which usually includes ‘breakfast’ type of food) is finding it’s way to Prague cafes.

Some places serve special brunch during weekends only and fancy restaurants are having a special themed brunch days, where menu can cost anything from 1500 CZK and are great for a special occasions.

But for my favourite list of brunch places in Prague, I’ve picked up places that regularly offer breakfast (aka brunch) until 1-2 pm (3 pm at the latest, but that’s tricky to find…), so that when you wake up late you know you can still have a great start to your day.

I’ve included my favourite brunch spots, which I visit all the time as they are (mostly) on my way from my flat to the Prague centre and slightly outside the main tourist areas. And since I’m taking you away from the Old Town Square, I thought I’d also let you know what to do in the area once you’ve had your delicious brunch!

If you are looking for more places to have your breakfast in Prague, I’ve already mentioned a lot of my favourite cafes in my previous blog posts, including my favourite historic cafes, amazing artisan bakeries, bakeries where you can get the best traditional kolace and coffee roasting cafes, which are also great places to have your breakfast (and some also extend their hours to serve brunch).

1. Malby’s Cafe

• Location: Neklanova 150/38, Prague 2, Nusle
• Opening times: Monday – Saturday: 9:30 – 22:00, Sunday: 9:30 – 18:00

Malby’s Café is a colourful café inspired by Cuban cuisine and culture, newly opened in Nusle and definitely worth the visit. I took my mum here and we both enjoyed the Havana Breakfast (with chorizo, eggs, bread etc.), but you can also have the Cuban sandwich or granola with joghurt, honey and fresh fruit.

The coffee is great too and the staff are lovely too. It’s not the biggest of places, so weekend mornings are quite busy (we visited during a weekday straight after opening time and there was only a couple of other tables occupied).

Where to go afterwards: Just a 10 minutes walk up the hill and you are at the Vysehrad fortress and park with large cathedral, underground tunnels and cemetery which is last resting place for many famous Czech people. If you don’t fancy the hike up the hill, follow the street to get to the Art Garden (entry is free, but opens only on Wednesday & Saturday during the main season).

2. Go Francin – Smichov

The cafe is super popular, it’s friendly and stylish spot in the new flat developments close to Na Knizeci. I like that, I can start my day with yogurt and homemade oven-baked granola topped with fresh fruit, or have hearty toast with fried eggs, crispy bacon, caramelized onion, arugula, and honey mustard.

This is one of my favourite brunch cafes for healthy breakfast. I like their avocado bread with fresh herbs and I also like their excellent specialty coffee from their own Francin Roasters. Last time I visited I also took my mum for a special breakfast and it’ was great to watch the food prepared in a busy kitchen right in the cafes.

Where to go afterwards: The cafe is opposite the Staropramen Brewery, which has a themed pub bar and you can also take a tour of the brewery and see the museum display.

3. Zrno, Zrnko – Toyen (Smichov)

• Location: Toyen, Smíchov City, Praha 5-Smíchov
• Opening times: Monday – Friday: 7:30 – 18:00, Saturday – Sunday: 8:00 – 17:00

Zrno, Zrnko Toyen is a lovely artisan bakery and a small café tucked away in the new Smíchov City flats development (just round the corner from Go Francin). The brunch menu is compact, but it changes frequently, so there is always something new. Plus if you like sweet breakfast you can always have freshly baked traditional kolace with coffee.

Zrno, Zrnko has been expanding in Prague since 2018, and the Toyen branch is their seventh location.

The brunch menu usually includes sourdough bread with different types of eggs, avocado or savoury curd cheese with mild chilly oil.

4. Českavárna Portheimka

• Location: Štefánikova 68/12, Prague 5, Smíchov
• Opening times: Monday – Sunday: 9:00 – 19:00
  Breakfast items are served until 12:00 (noon)

The brunch at Českavárna Portheimka was a pure perfection, when I visited recently. Everything was freshly prepared and my savoury eggs on toast were served with side salad, which was seasoned and had it’s own amazing taste. I also had the traditional pancakes with cheese curd and blueberries and they were absolutely delicious.

The café is in Portheimka Summer Palace in Smíchov, built by the famous architect Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer in the 1720s as a summer residence for himself and his family. The interior is elegant and airy with high ceilings and you can also sit outside. The cafe opens up on to a quiet park with trees and because the whole park is slightly sunken, it’s very peaceful here.

The brunch menu includes classic Czech breakfast such as fresh bread with ham, cheese, and homemade spreads, as well as eggs prepared in various styles, and sweet options like homemade cakes, pastries and pancakes. You can also have yogurt with granola and fruit, open-faced sandwiches, and a selection of savoury quiches.

Where to go afterwards: The gallery above the cafe opens at 1 pm and the exhibitions (usually art, history or photos) are free (or low cost) and always well put together. You can also see how beautifully decorated the house was when it was a private residence.

5. Spot Cafe

• Location: Újezd 429/22, Prague 1, Lesser Town
• Opening times: Monday – Friday: 8:00 – 18:00, Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 – 18:00

The Spot Café was until recently a large antique shop, so when I saw it first being open I had to visit. The cafe has a modern and light decor with comfortable seating and there is even a small courtyard garden.

For breakfast and brunch, Spot Café offers eggs (different styles) with artisan bread, crepes, porridge, and yogurt bowls. Vegan options, including matcha lattes and plant-based breakfasts, are also available.

Where to go afterwards: Across the square (right opposite the cafe entrance) is the entrance to the Kinsky Park, where you can visit the National Folk Museum or walk up to the top of the Petrin Hill to visit the Petrin Tower.

6. Cafe Peron

• Location: Stroupežnického 20, Prague 5, Smíchov
• Opening times: Monday – Sunday: 9:00 – 20:00

I took my mum for a breakfast at the Café Perón before heading to explore Prague and we really enjoyed our brioche bun with scrambled eggs, onion, bacon and tomato served with coleslaw salad. The americano coffee with milk was also great and we have also shared pancakes with raspberry jam cinnamon and sour cream.

The café staff are friendly, there is a relaxed atmosphere and I’ve seen the cafe being used by both locals and tourists. In the summer, there is even a cosy courtyard garden seating.

The brunch/breakfast menu also includes brioche bun with different fillings (avocado, eggs, bacon) or scrambled eggs with spring onions and bread, traditional sausages with horseradish mustard or pancakes or semolina porridge.

Where to go afterwards: Just across the street you will find the biggest model train collection museum, which is great to visit with children and anyone who is into trains.

7. Le Camille

• Location: Stefanikova 316/8, Prague 5-Smíchov
• Opening times: Monday – Friday: 7:30 – 22:00, Sat 9:00 – 22:00, Sunday: 9:00 – 19:00

This is a cosy cafe that sources their ingredients and food from local farmers and artisan food producers. There is a small patio seating outside and more spaces in the cosy cafe inside. Over the years I’ve also had lunches, puddings and dinners here and pretty much everything I’ve tasted was nicely made with plenty of flavour and fresh ingredients.

The breakfast and brunch menu at Le Camille includes full English Breakfast, eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs with fried onions, omelettes with different fillings and you can also have homemade granola with yogurt.

Where to go afterwards: The cafe is close to the Andel Underground station, which has really good local farmer’s markets on Tuesdays and Fridays (Don’t miss my favourite poppy seeds cake with plum filling from the cake stall!)

8. Tisse

• Location: Krkonošská 1667/14, Prague 2, Vinohrady
• Opening times: Monday – Friday: 7:30 – 19:00, Saturday – Sunday: 8:30 – 19:00
  Breakfast and brunch served until 15:00 during weekdays and until 16:00 during weekends

Tisse Café is great artisan bakery, that makes amazing croissants and pastries, which are baked directly in the cafe. I’ve tried their famous pistachio croissant and it was absolutely delicious – filled with pistachio cream and topped with generous amount of ground pistachios. The menu is inspired by French breakfasts and includes eggs Benedict, croque monsieur, French toast, and homemade granola with yogurt and fruit.

There is a hidden garden in the courtyard behind the cafe, which is so peaceful and a great place to enjoy your brunch.

Where to go afterwards: The Tisse cafe is a great starting point for exploring the Zizkov Area. Riegrovy Park is just at the end of the street, whilst the Zizkov Television Tower is only about 10 minutes walk. The Jiriho z Podebrad square round the corner has one of the best farmer’s markets in the whole Prague.

9. Globe

• Location: Pštrossova 1925/6, Prague 1, New Town
• Opening times: Monday – Friday: 10:00 – 22:00, Saturday – Sunday: 9:30 – 22:00
  Breakfast and brunch items are served until 12:30 on weekdays and until 15:00 (3:00 PM) on weekends

From the outside the place looks like a bookshop (and the first section truly is), but inside you will find the eclectic cafe with with the most extensive American-style brunch menus in Prague!

The brunch menu include classic American pancakes with maple syrup and butter, a full Irish breakfast, chicken & waffles, homemade bagels with a variety of toppings (like smoked salmon or cream cheese), eggs Benedict, omelettes, and Strawberry French toast.

Vegan and vegetarian options are also available, such as the vegan breakfast scramble and avocado toast. Sides include hash browns, bacon, and sausage, and there is a wide selection of specialty coffees, fresh juices, and brunch cocktails like mimosas and Bloody Marys.

The portions are generous, so you will be set for the whole day of exploring Prague.

Where to go afterwards: At the end of the street, where the street becomes ‘Na Zderaze’, you will find the memorial to the Operation Anthropoid and if you walk towards the Vltava River you can explore the Slavic Island.

10. Smetana Q

• Location: Smetanovo nábřeží 334/4, Prague 1, Lesser Town
• Opening times: Monday – Sunday: 9:00 – 20:00

• Prices from: Brunch starts from 195 – 350 Kč

The Smetana Q Café has the perfect combination of a fabulous food and stunning riverside setting with panoramic views of Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. The interior is modern and airy with contemporary art and design elements, as the space is shared with the SmetanaQ Gallery and design studios.

The brunch menu includes their the signature SmetanaQ Breakfast (avocado toast, egg Benedict with bacon and hollandaise sauce, waffle with mascarpone and strawberries, and coffee of your choice), Royal Breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, cheese, vegetables, homemade bread, and spreads), as well as lighter options like croissants, homemade granola with yogurt and fruit, and a selection of cakes and desserts. The café also serves specialty coffee, fresh juices, and has a curated wine list.

Where to go afterwards: Right next to this cafe is the Slavia Cafe (one of the best historic cafes in Prague) and then the National Theatre. There are also fabulous views of Prague Castle and you can take even better pictures of Charles Bridge when you walk to the end of the Shooter’s Island (only 5-7 minutes walk from the cafe).

11. Kampa Cafe

• Location: Zborovská 620/47, Prague 5, Smichov
• Opening times: Monday – Friday: 8:00 – 17:00, Saturday 9:00 – 18:00, Sunday: 9:00 – 17:00
  Breakfast and brunch served until 12:00 (noon)
• Prices from: Brunch starts from 249 – 385Kč

Brunch at Kampa Café is a lovely dinning experience, which is perfect for a special occasion and if you have a slightly higher budget for your Prague visit. The cafe is set in a bright, modern space with large windows that fill the café with natural light.

The breakfast and brunch menu has plenty of choice including eggs Benedict, omellets with a variety of fillings, homemade pancakes, French toast, and yogurt with granola and fresh fruit. You can also have a full English Breakfast, scrambled eggs with truffles or even oysters and champagne!

The menu also has savoury options like toasted sandwiches, avocado toast, and a daily selection of fresh pastries and cakes, all prepared with quality ingredients.

Where to go afterwards: Only 5 minutes walk towards the Vltava river and you’ll reach the beginning of the Kampa Island Park, which has modern art gallery museum. Through the park you can easily walk to the Charles Bridge and also to the John Lennon Wall.

12. Marty’s Kitchen

• Location: Masarykovo Nabrezi 6, Prague 2 New Town
• Opening times: Monday – Sunday: 8:00 – 20:00
  Breakfast and brunch served all day
• Prices from: Brunch start from 175 -365 Kč

The brunch menu at Marty’s Kitchen has homemade brioche French toast with maple syrup and fresh fruit, eggs Benedict served on toasted English muffins with ham or smoked salmon, and a traditional English breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, and grilled tomato. You can also choose from omelettes with a variety of fillings, avocado toast with poached eggs, pancakes, and homemade granola with yogurt and berries.

Everything is freshly prepared, there is plenty of variety, the portions are generous and breakfast and brunch is served all day. Prices are slightly higher than my usual places, so I usually visit for a special occasion, but the food is definitely worth it. (Take cash with you, because they don’t take cards here).

Where to go afterwards: Just across the street you have the Manes Art Gallery and about 3 minutes walk along the river you can see the Dancing House. You can also walk down to the river and walk towards Smichovska Naplavka with bars on the boats and more art galleries.
